Meet and Greet the Dogs For Adoption
Saturday, July 19, 2008   1 - 3 PM   Please meet our dogs for adoption at Especially For Pets in Sudbury, 81 Union Ave from 1-3 on July 19th. If you have submitted a Web application, please send us an email and let us know you are coming so that we can have it printed and ready to review after you meet the dogs and let us know which one you're interested in. How to speed the process: bring water bill, pics of your house, your last dog, letters of reference, the more info, the better so we can get a picture of what kind of home you can provide. Dogs do not go home directly from the meet and greet, but we will start sending them home on Sunday. We cannot hold dogs for you while you are on vacation as it costs other dogs their lives who might not have a chance to be rescued in a timely manner. Thanks for your consideration!

Scheduled Arrival: July 2008

Update on Grace: She is finally coming! She has finished her heartworm treatment and spayed. She has been staying at the vet's while she was being treated for heart worm, but is finished. Because there is no foster home for her in TN, we are still paying boarding costs so are seeking ongoing donations. Dr. Everett's husband said Grace is spoiled! Sometimes she will only eat her food off a spoon! He sits and hand feeds her when she is not feeling okay and refuses to eat any other way. Right now she is eating three times/day without being hand fed. Donations are much appreciated.

Here is Grace's story. She was picked up by two women who were just finishing transporting dogs. She was wandering along interstate 40, crossing back and forth. They stopped; hoping to check her tags and take her home. But the collar was old and very tight and it was clear she didn't have a home.

They contacted Save A Dog; we said we'd take her; and they named her Grace because they'd made a wrong turn and shouldn't have even been there to find her… but for the grace of God. A rescue friend of Save A Dog took her in, found out she was heart worm positive and suffering from a rare tick-borne illnes. So she is being built up so she can be treated for heart worm. Then she can come up and find her forever home.

Vegas

Scheduled Arrival: August 2008

Apply To Adopt

Vegas is a neutered male, young, possibly one or two years old we're guessing, who was turned into a high kill shelter. He is young, wants to play, gets along with other dogs...not dominant. Because of his friendly nature, a dog rescuer was called and he was rescued so that he can find an adoptive home. Please apply if interested. He came in with his pal, Trooper, so he gets along fine with other dogs. He is coming up from TN in August.

Scheduled Arrival: July 2008

Apply To Adopt

Update: We've already received more than enough applications for Kala. Please consider one of her siblings and come to our Meet and Greet to see that the other puppies are just as deserving of a home.

This is Kala. She is the only girl in this litter (boys are Khaki, Kevin, and Kahlen). She super sweet natured and cute as can be. To get the picture, foster provider tried to get her to play with toys and all she was interested in was the leash and sitting in the foster mom's lap! They were turned in by someone who was giving puppies away by the side of the road in TN and a rescue worker took them in so that they wouldn't have to spend life on a chain. They are all coming up to Mass from TN on the 16th of July and will be in quarantine until the 18th and after their vet visit we will show them at our meet and greet which will be at Especially For Pets in Sudbury, 7/19/08 from 1-3 PM. No phone calls, please, as we do not have the resources to return calls and we need to focus our energies placing the adult dogs. Emailed applications will be reviewed soon after our Meet and Greet event.

Scheduled Arrival: August, 2008

Apply To Adopt

Saffire is a sweet dog who showed up as a stray at a rural home in TN. She was very thin and so they fed and took care of her and soon she had puppies. Her puppies are Sugar, Spice, Saffron, Smokey, and Shadow. She seems to be a Shepherd mixed with either Husky or Norwegian Elkhound. She will be spayed and transported up to MA in August. We're posting her picture now so that the puppy adopters can see what the mama dog looks like. She has a beautiful personality. The foster family had five kids and the youngest were 5 and 6 years old. She would bark if they got too close to the road. Smart dog!

Dover is a one year old Lab/Dane mix, but he's not super big like a Dane. He's more like 65 lbs. He was rescued as a pup along with his brother Derek.
