In 2007, Our dear friend and faithful volunteer, Sheryl Palmer, lost her battle with breast cancer. She was irreplaceable. Sheryl is a long-time friend of founders Shirley Moore and David Bernier as well as a close friend of many Save A Dog volunteers. She fostered many dogs and puppies for the organization and in particular took in a litter of Rottweiler puppies born while we were doing search and rescue following Hurricane Katrina. Sheryl was living in Naples, FL at the time, but was still willing to help so Shirley drove the puppies from Baton Rouge to Sheryl's home in Florida and Sheryl fostered the lrambuncious itter until they were nine weeks old. Sheryl and hernlabors of love will never be forgotten.

To honor Sheryl's love of flowers and dogs, we dedicated a sitting bench in her honor.
