She was rescued in Louisiana and treated for heart worms. She is negative and healthy, great with dogs, plays in play group. She lived in the director's house and is house trained. She will wait at the door. She's very calm and chill. We're guessing on her breeds. She's a really nice dog who has been in rescue for awhile due to no fault of her own. She loves to fetch a ball and does zoomies outside in the yard and then is calm inside. She stays off the furniture. She is not destructive. She likes belly rubs but is not real needy. She's just a happy girl. One of our volunteers took her for a ride. She rode well in the car and was very excited to go for an adventure. Sissy, ~ 2.5 years Female Hound/Catahoula  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Available On: 5/18/26 Apply To Adopt Sissy is a young Catahoula or possibly a hound mix. She has the eye speckling characteristic of Catahoulas, but is much smaller, so she may have some Beagle in her. She's the perfect size at 39 pounds - not too big and not too small. She was a Louisiana stray and heartworm negative, so she's ready for her new home. Sissy is a young dog at 2.5, and she would be great for a family looking for a very playful and friendly dog. Her foster mom says she loves toys, playing fetch, and going on walks, but she'll settle in a dog bed if you're sitting at the computer or watching TV. She is fully house-trained and sleeps in her crate through the night. She's a very sweet dog who gets along with everyone in her foster family, including their two small dogs. He does great in the car, even on longer rides (he handled an hour each way with no issues), and has been excellent on walks, both with new people and other dogs. At home, he settles nicely and sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of the bed, only hopping up in the morning to let you know he’s ready to go outside. He has a nice balance of energy, happily going from playful to relaxed, but he is still in his chewing phase, so a dog-proofed home and supervision are important. He hasn’t spent much time in a crate and does tend to bark when crated, so that’s an area that would benefit from continued training. He’s an early riser, usually up around 6 AM, but also settles easily for the night and is happy to go to bed as early as 9 PM. He met our elderly mom and her cat and was great with both of them." We're supporting her holistically and she will likely need surgery before adoption. She is so sweet and deserves a soft place to land. Sofia is a beautiful, friendly senior (8-9 yrs) German Shepherd girl. Smart, mellow, and sociable, she will make a wonderful companion. She gets along well with other dogs and loves people. When Sofia was rescued, she was in a very malnourished state and is still underweight at just 58 pounds. It's clear she had a home at one time, as she was spayed when rescued.
