Hi Shirley,
It's been just shy of 2 weeks since we picked up Holly. I just wanted
to give you a quick update on how she's doing...
She's extremely intelligent and a quick learner. We changed her name
to Rangley (The Intelligent) and her initials are RTI, which is our company
name (Rescue Training International, also known as RTI).
On her first day, she learned to sit, day 2 = down, day 3 = beg, day 4 =
turn around, day 5 = open her new toy box (but she won't put them
back...yet...), day 6 = roll over. Day 7 = took a break from learning new
tricks. Day 8 = Come. Day 9 = jump up on my back and stay balanced. Day
10 = she got her new jacket, which is an official looking jacket with our
company's rescue patch sewn on the back. She looks so cute. Day 11 =
first day in a classroom all day while we taught a rescue class. People
tend to really enjoy our classes, but she was defnintely the hit of the
day. She was very excited to see so many people and was very active all
day. She also loves to go for rides, which is a great thing since we
spend quite a bit of time in the car. Day 11 was also the first day she
went without an "accident". This was a really good thing since she was in
a high school classroom. Day 12 = Second day of a two day class and she
wore her rescue jacket since it was so cold. This time, she just flopped
down in her spot and slept for most of the day, only getting put and
greeting people during breaks. She was very calm and sweet all day. When
we got home, she went absolutely crazy. Then looked at me as if to say,
"I was good all day so I have to tear around the house now."
One of her favorite toys is RD, which is a squeaky toy rescue dog that
she loves. She makes me smile everyday with her antics. I will email you
more info and pictures of her as we gather more. I noticed that you have
a successful adoptions page and I'll email you later on to possibly put
her on there. I think she still has a lot of growing up to do and there
isn't much reason to put her on there now. I'm sure I'll have a lot more
to tell you about in a few months. But I just wanted to let you know that
she is doing really well. She loves kids, other dogs, adults, etc,
although we don't know about cats yet. The cat has taken up residence
upstairs and still will not come down. We try to go upstairs and keep her
company for a little while each day. So, thank you for allowing this
waggly girl into my life.
I love her dearly.
Thank you again,
Tracy
