Hi Shirley,
After seeing you on Sunday, I'm now getting off my sorry rear end to send you a picture of Cal
and Ellie from last summer in Michigan.
Ellie (singing, ARLB '90) is 15 yrs, and we are certain that a huge part of her incredible
health and vigor is a result of Cal (jet black, looking distracted in the background, SAD '00),
who is now 6. They both attract a lot of attention with their close, nutty friendship, and we
are always quick to promote them as ambassadors for SAD, ARLB, and for the advantages of adopting
mixed breeds.
As always, Michael and I (and Ell) are eternally grateful to you and Jayne for rescuing Cal
from the CACC in 1999 (with Cal's 10 puppies), and allowing her to bless our pack. She has
changed us immeasurably, and never looked back. Dogs rock!
We will see you soon.
Katrina

Dear Save A Dog,
My wife and I recently adopted Dorey (now Calpurnia) a little over a month
ago. She has been an incredible joy. She bonded with us almost immediately
and is just a great dog. I can't say enough about how well she has fit into
our pack. We also have a 9 year old shepard/something/something-else mix
named Ellie and they get along great.
We've been following the website to see if Charlie had been adopted and we
were so happy to see that he's found a home. We hope the new owners enjoy
Charlie as much as we are enjoying Cal. If he's got his mother's temperment
then they have found themselves a winner.
Thanks and keep up the great work,
Michael Denomy, Katrina Anderson, Ellie & Calpurnia

Hi you guys--
Just wanted to let you know that "Dorey" (now named Calpurnia Rose)--
adopted last November after her 10 puppies were adopted-- is well and
thriving with us, and has had all her medical stuff (mange, heartworm,
spaying) tended to. She is absolutely beautiful, wild and loving, and
has brought new sassy spirit into our older dog, Ellie. My husband and
I took them both to the coast of Maine for a short vacation recently,
and Cal and Ell must have run 30 miles on the beaches there. Sheer
bliss! And, best of all, they were very happy to stay within "voice
control" of us. We are very grateful to you guys for Calpurnia-- she is
a blessing for all three of us.
I've attached a recent shot of Cal (the jet-black one) with Ellie in the
background. Please forward this to Jayne and let her know that Cal is
doing just fine.
Our thanks to all of you---
Katrina Anderson and Michael Denomy
